Getting honest with God for spiritual growth Acerca de Get Honest with God Evaluations Examine yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Test yourselves. - 2 Corinthians 13:5 Truthfulness for Freedom and Spiritual Growth These spiritual evaluations were designed by God as tools for earnest engagement with Him to uncover areas in our spiritual lives that are in need of growth towards Christlikeness. These are NOT religious evaluations or performance-driven self-inspections. These evaluations are useful for revealing blind spots and aligning us with the plumbline of Christ. When approached with ruthless honesty, willingness to admit to ourselves and to God where we are falling short of Christ 's perfection, and openness to allow the Holy Spirit to change our hearts, we allow God to set us free from unfavorable habits and gives us power to change. As you use these evaluations to discover areas of your heart, mind, spirit, and life that God wants to develop in Christlikeness, you will watch and be amazed at how God builds your faith and transforms your life from the inside out. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to honestly evaluate your own fruitfulness or lack thereof in the given inspection area. At the same time, consider how Jesus demonstrated perfection. Ask the Lord to guide you into becoming more like Him. How would you summarize the main focus of this exercises? How did Jesus demonstrate spiritual maturity in this? In what ways are you thriving in this? In what ways do you need to grow in this? Ask the Lord to forgive you for ways you have fallen short in this area. Ask the Lord to give you at least one step of obedience to put into practice so that you can continue to grow more like Jesus. Remember that God's mercies are new every morning.
